Lg Brave Blue Heron Books S.K. Nicholls’ family owns and operates one of the oldest and largest nudist resorts in the nation located in Central Florida, Cypress Cove. Her experience gives her a deep understanding of the lifestyle choice and how it is extremely different from the sex industry, yet harbors clandestine elements of intrigue and fascination. Social issues are at the forefront of her writing. She dabbled in oils and watercolors in her youth. In August 2018, she discovered acrylics and fell in love with art all over again. A native of Georgia, she lived in Orlando, Florida, with her husband, Greg, from 2006-2019. Currently, she resides in the artsy little fishing village of Matlacha (Matt-la-shay) on West Island near Pine Island, Florida. When she’s not writing or painting, she can be found tracking down Snorlaxes, wandering city parks with the homeless, or sipping margaritas on the bow of a boat. She is a member of Sisters in Crime, Florida Writer’s Association and Writers of Central Florida, or Thereabouts.

No filters. Matlacha Pass Maneuvering through the mangrove tunnels in a kayak doesn’t take a lot of skill, but one wrong move and your apt to tip it and get wet. That’s okay though, the water in here is only knee deep. I love the dappled sunlight under the mangrove canopy. My granddaughter’s friend wanted something that looked like “water” so this is the cup pour she did and then blew or with the hair dryer. I like both “fire” and “water” for different reasons. The girls did well. Fire. I did this 12x12 acrylics pour paint with my granddaughter. She wanted fire and her visiting friend wanted water. She poured the paint and blew it out. A while later she dragged some toothpicks through it to make the fiery flames. Something different. Sea floor.. Where Dolphins Play 4-panel nautical grouping. Can be divided or displayed on square or diamond. 4-12x12 Fredric Pro panels. 1-spiral sun dotted in gold metal foil, 1-painted sailboat with gold foil and painted sails, 1-white shells in deep water with one silver fouled dolphin, 1-8 playful dolphins in silver foil. All on acrylic painted background. See link tree on profile to learn more about framing available via website. Panel #3 of 4. Decided to drop a little sailboat onto this one. Made a mistake by not allowing the paint to cure 3-4 days before foiling, so a bit of metal foil stuck where it should not have. This is what I love about acrylic paints. Easy fix! Second panel of four. Simple enough. A little stamping with the real objects. Shells! Minor touch ups required. One of four panels in a new project. I metal foil and dotting techniques. I like changing up my acrylics to keep them interesting.
